In the Pettorina Valley, The Heart of the Dolomites
Rocca Pietore - A Village of Nature and Tradition
Rocca Pietore, at 1,143 meters above sea level, spans several villages nestled in the unspoiled nature of Val Pettorina, in the heart of the Dolomites.
This village, listed among the most beautiful in Italy, is known for its historic tradition of wrought iron work, visible in many of the village’s handcrafted decorations.
From the nearby hamlet of Malga Ciapela start the ski lifts that lead to the top of Marmolada, the queen of the Dolomites, making the hamlet a hub for those who want to experience the mountains amid history, culture and outdoor activities.
From the Heart of the Pettorina Valley, the Canyon Reborn after Storm Vaia
The Serrai of Sottoguda - The Rebirth of a Natural Treasure
The Serrai di Sottoguda are an impressive natural canyon located at the foot of Marmolada Mountain. This spectacular trail, about 2 kilometers long, features high rock walls that seem to brush against each other, creating aunique and fascinatingatmosphere.
Hit hard by Storm Vaia in 2018, the Serrai were completely destroyed, but thanks to intensive recovery work they have recently been reopened to the public. Today they stand as a symbol of resilience, once again offering visitors the chance to walk among the wonders of nature, accompanied by the sound of the Pettorina stream flowing through the heart of the canyon.
Perfect both in summer for refreshing walks and in winter, when icy waterfalls attract ice-climbing enthusiasts, the Serrai di Sottoguda are a must-see in the Dolomite area.
In the Heart of Dolomiti Superski
Marmolada and the Dolomites - A Heritage to Experience
Marmolada, known as the Queen of the Dolomites, is the highest mountain in this extraordinary UNESCO World Heritage mountain range, reaching 3,343 meters. Located between Val Pettorina and Val di Fassa, the Marmolada offers spectacular views, perennial glaciers, and historical importance related to the Great War, evidenced by the Marmolada Museum located at Punta Rocca.
This massif is also a hub for skiers, thanks to its proximity to the Dolomiti Superski, one of the world’s largest ski areas. With more than 1,200 kilometers of interconnected slopes, Dolomiti Superski allows for unique experiences, such as the famous Sellaronda, the ski tour around the Sella Group, and to enjoy memorable descents, such as the Bellunese slope, which leads from Marmolada to Malga Ciapela.
In every season, the Marmolada and the Dolomites offer unmissable opportunities: from winter sports to summer hiking and the discovery of an area rich in history, nature and traditions. The combination of breathtaking scenery and modern amenities makes this area a paradise for those seeking the perfect balance of adventure and relaxation.
